Hau
You should know him from the award winning Canberra hip-hop duo, Koolism. And more than likely you've heard of The Hip Hop Show on Triple J where he's been a presenter and producer since 2008. He's well respected among hip hoppers throughout the country, featuring on many prominent artist's albums including Hilltop Hoods and Hermitude. Fresh off the release of his first solo mix tape Football, Feasts, and Funerals, this Tongan is back to show us how a proper show is done.

Nas Doco Premier
Unbelievably it has been 30 years now since the release of the album that has taken it's rightful place in Hip Hop history.  It has become a bench mark by which all other hip-hop releases are judged to this day. It paints the young Nas' life in Queensbridge like a movie and it has held Nas up as one of the true Legends of Hip Hop culture to this day. This film takes an in-depth look at the album and the conditions surrounding it's conception.  It interviews everyone close to Nas and follows him through the old neighbourhood, so we can visually see what he has already so incredibly described. It has already been deemed a classic film.
The Time is Illmatic will show on both the 12th and 13th and it WILL sell out, so be quick!

Chanel Zero
It's Spook's birthday and you know what that means- psychedelic visuals to some old school hip hop jams. That's because for his birthday Spook brings us the present of a peek into the depths of his own mind- and it's going to get wild. This is a new monthly night which celebrates the relatively rare craft of the VJ. If you don't know him yet, VJ Spook has been in the business since the turn of the century, lending his skills to the likes of Mix Master Mike, De La Soul, and Swollen Members to name a few.  Together with Raine Supreme they formed the AVDJ group NTSC opening for Def Wish Cast, Jurassic 5, Afrika Bambaataa, and Pharoahe Monch among others. What a resume! Not only that but he has been resident tour VJ for Bliss n Eso since 2008. Not only that but he is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. This birthday extravaganza will includes DJ sets from some of Sydney's best hip hop, funk, and soul DJs- Adverse, Makoto, Nick Carotgold, and Juzzlikedat.

Screw a work party (unless of course there is free booze, but even then...) and I haven't got family around so all I have to do is get "Christmas wasted" with friends and listen to extremely awesome music which is preformed by my awesome friends! Winning!! This year is the first year that the Xmas party is heading down to Melbourne.  It happens the week before so let's not let them show us up. No way can you beat a hometown crowd and vibe.  This will be a special show as well because as it takes place in the same venue where the label was started (The Sando) 4 years ago!
